The 56-day Amarnath Yatra to one of the highest shrines Asia is set to begin on June 28 from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal, and conclude on August 22.

The registration for the upcoming annual pilgrimage to Amarnath in South Kashmir will begin on April 1, 2021.

Health certificates issued by doctors or medical institutes recognised by state or union territory governments will be accepted at registered bank branches. The certificates are mandatory if you want to go on the pilgrimage, due to the high altitude of the shrine.

Permits for the yatra would differ depending on the day of the week and the route. A different colour code will be used for each day to assist police officers stationed at the access control gates at Baltal in Ganderbal district and Chandanwari-Pahalgam in Anantnag district.

&ldquoThe registration will start from April 1 for both the routes through 446 designated bank branches of the Punjab National Bank (316), the Jammu and Kashmir Bank (90) and the YES Bank (40), all over the country," said Nitishwar&nbspKumar, the CEO of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).

Further details regarding the pilgrimage will be available on the notice board of the website.

Health certificates issued after March 15 will be considered valid. The website contains information on how to get to the base camps, registration fees, and tariffs for ponies, palanquins, and porters.

Under safety protocols, the CEO also mentioned that children under the age of 13, people 75 years and above, and women who are six weeks pregnant should avoid the yatra trip this year.

He also requested those planning a trip to complete the necessary formalities beforehand in order to avoid any complications.
