Alleppey Beach Is South Indias First Differently-Abled-Friendly Beach

Great news for all beach lovers, the Alleppey beach in Kerala is now also accessible to differently-abled

Now every differently-abled tourist can access the beautiful beach of Alleppey which is now equipped with all the necessary amenities required to do so. The generous act was carried out on December 3rd which signifies the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Various organisations such as National health mission, fire force were behind the noble cause. The beach witnessed a lot of volunteers helping the differently-abled to enjoy their first experience with the sea. Ramps have been created along the beach for its easy access by the handicapped. Spending about 58 lakh on the initiative, the state government has arranged a lot of facilities for the differently-abled visitors. Special restrooms, Braille sign boards, wheel chairs, medical assistance and life guard support are among the services provided at the beach.

Alapuzha, which is one of the major tourist destinations of the state, is famous for its beach and the festivals that take place there. The Alapuzha beach festival and the International Sand Art festival depicting the rich Indian culture can now be witnessed by all sorts of tourists.  The priceless experience of the cool breeze along the sea and the sun kissed sand has been made possible for all.
