What's Happening under Unlock 5.0

OT Staff

Emerging from the haze of lockdowns, almost all of India is getting ready to reopen as the Union Ministry of Home Ministry (MHA) announces fresh relaxations under Unlock 5.0 guidelines.

While more economic activities outside containment zones are now possible, international travel continues to remain suspended until October 31.

&ldquoThe international air travel, except those permitted by MHA, continues to remain shut,&rdquo the MHA said in the fresh order. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the ban, however, does not apply to international cargo and scheduled flights.

Meanwhile, all inter-state travel without restrictions is allowed. The order that all travellers crossing state borders must carry e-pass and e-permit in order to travel had been lifted by the government recently.

Under the new guidelines, cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, entertainment parks, and swimming pools (for the training of sportspersons) outside containment zones can reopen from October 15.

Most of India is now ready to welcome tourists in October. While Odisha has decided to open the beaches of Puri and Gopalpur and the temples of Bhubaneswar and Konark, Sikkim has announced that it's reopening from October 10. Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura are the other states who have announced that they are opening for tourists in October.
