You Can Now Get Last-Minute Tickets On 'Tatkal' With Air India

With Jet Airways shutting down this year, air passengers are hit with a huge rise in prices due to a shortage of seats. Yet again, Air India decided to come up with a rescue plan. Considering this recent phenomenon and the general price hike that occurs right before the date of departure, Air India has recently decided to put a hefty discount on last-moment tickets bought for an emergency.

According to PTI, officials from the airline reported that there is more than a 40 per cent increase in the flight fare close to departure. With the current upsurge in demand, these flight tickets are practically unaffordable. To tackle this, the national airline has announced a discount exceeding 40 per cent, 3 hours before the time of departure, and gave domestic travellers a breath of relief.

In one interaction with the PTI, an airline official even announced a flat 50 per cent off on the sale of these tickets in case of a purchase at the eleventh hour. For anyone making a last minute travel plan or people who need means for an urgent trip, Air India now promises a cheaper, more affordable way out.

The tickets can be booked from any and all places the counters, the website, on the mobile app, or through agents.
