Chandni Chowk 2.0 is Set to Open on April 17

Work on the 1.3 km stretch from Fatehpuri Mosque to Red Fort began back in December 2018

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to inaugurate a revamped and refurbished Chandni Chowk on April 17. 

This historic market stretch in old Delhi received a makeover recently, and its entire stretch has been enhanced with green zones. On either side of the road a wide pavement of around 5 to 10 metres has been built for non-motorised vehicles. Also, a 2.5 metre-long footpath has been constructed on either side of the road. Senior citizens can avail of electric vehicles to move around.

The revamped stretch, which runs from Red Fort to Fatehpuri Mosque, will remain&nbspa non-motorised zone from 9am to 9pm 

Work on the 1.3 km stretch from Fatehpuri Mosque to Red Fort had begun back in December 2018. 

As per the Delhi government, the Chandni Chowk stretch was developed at an estimated budget of INR 99 crore.
