Clubbing has taken a serious hit this pandemic season. While clubs attracted heavy crowds throughout the week, owing to social distancing, the traditional way of clubbing needs serious change. That is exactly what this club in the Netherlands decided to do.

Doornroosje in the Netherlands has come up with an innovative way of enjoying clubs while ensuring social-distancing protocols.

Originally, the club owners had decided to let people stand and dance as long as they maintained some distance from each other. When government officials asked them to set up chairs instead, they decided to let their guests dance while sitting They arranged chairs on the club floor and allowed people to enter in batches of 30 in order to avoid crowding.
Club officials said that while the arrangement looked strange, people really enjoyed the opportunity to go to a club again.

Added to this, the club has also changed its working hours. While they initially used to open only after dark, they now open during the afternoon. Like other nightclubs, Doornroosje also streamed their DJ performances live and shared its new form of social distanced dancing on Facebook.

The club opened on Saturday with 20-minute sets. There were eight sets in all and one could buy tickets for each set. The club saw a significant number of people turn up on their first day and despite having to sit, most of them said that they enjoyed this new kind of clubbing
