Thailand may not be popular for its flora and fauna, but there&rsquos a different kind of wild-life to be found on its islands. The Full Moon Party, no stranger to any tourist in Thailand, is held every month in Koh Pha-ngan.
As the story goes, a few tourists once stumbled upon in Koh Pha-ngan during a full moon night and enthralled by its beauty, decided to throw a party on the Haad Rin beach. Since then, the parties there have never really stopped, and close to 30,000 people come together to celebrate not the celestial, but just have a ball of a time on their own.
Different genres of music, mostly electronic, are played, but you can also find the beats alternate between reggae, hip-hop, and milder genres at different DJ consoles around the island. People are usually dressed up in neon paints and party clothes as they drink, dance and marvel at the spectacle on the beach. There are performances with fire-dancers and extravagant fireworks to add to the excitement.
Although it takes place around the year, with the summer months approaching, you can expect it to be even more of a fiesta. Here are the upcoming dates it&rsquos taking place on 19th April, 19th May and 17th June next.
