FIVE Palm Jumeirah in Dubai blends a luxurious party atmosphere with a commitment to eco-friendliness

There's always a party on at FIVE Palm Jumeirah. As you enter, the music, cheerful conversations, young, shiny people and a trail of empty glasses in the lobby announce instantly that you've reached one of Dubai's most happening spots.

Soon after I check-in, Mira Huzyuk, the hotel's F&B Sales Executive, tells me that FIVE Palm Jumeirah's number one agenda is entertainment. "At FIVE, you can have a thrilling, action-packed vacation without ever needing to leave the premises," said Huzyuk. I spot many unaccompanied women at the resort, which is unsurprising considering the many offerings for its female patrons. "We offer Secret Ladies' Day every Thursday at noon, featuring poolside enjoyment with live DJs. We host a special Ladies' Night on Tuesdays with complimentary drinks and a three-course Japanese feast. Female guests can also pamper themselves at our spa daily from 10 am, take a dip in our rooftop pool and try a session of yoga," she added.

At FIVE, each guest's experience is designed to be environmentally conscious. This is achieved through solar-powered water heating, using repurposed water for landscaping, focusing on local produce and biodegradable amenities, and implementing intelligent controls to conserve energy.

A Luxe Retreat

My Luxe Sea View room is impressive; the Dubai Marina skyline stretches out to the horizon through expansive windows framed by luxury furnishings. I noticed that the 3D tiling in the bathroom and bedroom is consistent throughout the hotel. With ample wardrobe space, a comfortable sofa for in-room dining, and a cosy bed, the room is inviting. However, the balcony steals the spotlight with sun loungers, chairs, and an outdoor dining table—a private retreat with panoramic city views.

Where Unique Flavours Come Together

FIVE Palm Jumeirah is renowned for its culinary delights. On my first night, I relished the delights of the Penthouse Rooftop Lounge, perched high above the city.

Award-winning Chef Frederic Faucheux's menu is an intriguing puzzle—a fusion of contemporary Japanese flavours with traditional elements, all prepared with French finesse. The spicy edamame and homemade chicken gyoza are an explosion of taste, while the mixed greens and seaweed salad, dressed with a light wafu sauce with bean sprouts, wakame, and pear, is a symphony of textures.

My culinary adventure continued that evening in Maiden Shanghai. Crowned with the title "best skyline view in Dubai," this 1920s Shanghai-inspired wonderland spans three floors. Out of the menu, curated by award-winning Chef Luo Bing, I relished the steamed, translucent crystal spinach, mushroom dumplings, and the Shanghai vegetable spring roll, which had a satisfying crunch and contrasting textures. The meal concluded with hearty combination of mushrooms, assorted vegetables, and noodles.

Party All Night, And Day

On my final evening, Wijaya, my ever-attentive guide, ushered me to FIVE's crown jewel—its pristine private beach. Though poolside loungers were limited, other alternatives awaited. A luxurious double daybed and parasol offered a sun-soaked option along the extensive 200-metre beachfront. Alternatively, two astroturf rooftops provided stunning beach views.

For those seeking a pulsating beat, FIVE doesn't disappoint. Its private beach transforms into party central, with renowned DJs like Robin Schulz and Lost Frequencies spinning tunes at Bohemia, the Saturday party. If Fridays are your scene, catch Skyline Fridays at The Penthouse, where acclaimed artists like GORDO and Joel Corry take centre stage. But the party doesn't stop there. The hotel has many nightlife options, with BLING, Roar, and Above 21 offering unique themes and experiences to cater to every partygoer's desire.
