What makes Paris a traveller's dream Is it the art and architecture The heritage The fashion Or simply because it is Paris The answer is different for everyone who visits but when deciding where to stay, choosing the Mandarin Oriental Paris (MO) would be a wise option. I recently stayed at the hotel during my trip to the city and loved every minute. Here are three reasons why you should choose to stay there on your next visit to the City of Lights
Location, Location, Location
The 1st Arrondisment in Paris is the oldest. It also comprises the historic, royal and artistic soul of the city. The arrondisment is one of the most popular tourist destinations and staying at MO, everything is simply a hop, skip, jump away. Want to spend the day gazing at the masterpieces at the Louvre Or want to take a stroll inside the Jardin des Tuileries How about a visit to the Palais Royal For shopaholics, did you know that the 1st is the fashion hub of the extremely fashionable city In a city as beautiful as Paris, location is key and MO's makes it a must-stay choice.
Unique And Historic
Paris has a long history and the building which is currently host to the 98-room-and-40-suite hotel has a historic past. Did you know that in the 1900s it was the home of a circus Fascinating, isn't it Prior to it becoming a hotel, the building hosted the Justice of Peace and other government offices. MO is one of the few palace hotels in Paris, so that will be a check on the bucket list. Not just the building but what makes MO unique are some very interesting features. As you walk inside the lobby, you are greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows with cascading greens outside. The courtyard with so much greenery is like a breath of fresh air in the heart of the city, something extremely hard to find. I was at one of the delux rooms and the view of the green courtyard was heartening. Then, if you like uniqueness, don't forget to stay at the panaromic suite. The view of the Eiffel Tower is offered by a lot of hotels but imagine gazing at the structure soaking in a massive bathtub, a glass of wine in hand
Culinary Delights
MO has a two Michelin star restaurant called Sur Mesure Par Thierry Marx. If you haven't eaten a seven course meal there, please do so the next time you find yourself in Paris. The city is filled with top restaurants and this one is right up there will them. The blend of light, sound and taste comes together here to make the meal exceptional. A dinner here was the longest meal of my life. Five hours later, I was so glad that my room was just an elevator ride away where I could collapse. I can still taste the mackeral camouflaged in greens, slightly sweet and well seasoned. There is also the all-day dining Camelia where you must try one of the five breakfast meals on offer (I Love New York is a personal favourite).
