Beautiful Munnar

In photos, a trekker's view of Munnar

Rahul Trivedi

Munnar, also known as the Kashmir of South India, was once the summer capital of the British. Its tranquil landscapes covered beneath systematically cultivated tea plants makes Munnar stand out amongst all the other hill stations in the country. As a solo traveller, the author decided to climb one of the highest peaks in southern India, something off beat than the regular run-in-the-mill tourists in do in Munnar. The steep slope and haphazardly grown lemongrass made it more challenging. It took about one-and-a-half hours to reach the top, but the views made it all worthwhile.
