The winter solstice is already considered to be a magical, mystical affair. This year, it was made even more magical with a rare &lsquoChristmas Star&rsquo event. For stargazers, an opportunity sprung up after 800 long years - the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.
On Monday evening, Jupiter and Saturn&rsquos proximity to each other from Earth was record-breaking. They were only 0.1 degrees apart in the sky. Though telescopes can capture the planet duo, to the naked eye, both the planets appeared like a single bright star in the sky. An event also called the Christmas Star.
Making use of this great opportunity, photographers from around the world took to social media to share their pictures of the great conjunction Here are some of our favorites.
