Chandigarh is one of the best planned cities in the country and has its share of beautiful tourist attractions in the form of architecture, culture and history. Amritsar
Amritsar is situated 217km away from Chandigarh and yes, it may not be such a "quick" getaway but nevertheless, the city is always a good break and for so many reasons. Sri Harmandir Sahib or as we know, the Golden Temple, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Sikhs. You may also want to visit Amritsar for the famous Wagah Border Ceremony. Barog
Located 60km away from Chandigarh is a small hill station called Barog in Solan district. Temperature is pleasant all year round. The hill station is most popular for the 1143.61m long tunnel of the Shimla-Kalka Railway route. There is always light at the end of a tunnel and in this case, it is the quaint little town of Barog. Barog, though small, is quite frequented by visitors for its beautiful hills and crisp cool air. Chandigarh can get pretty hot in summer and Barog comes as a cool and quick getaway.
Kasauli
Kasauli is located just 65km from Chandigarh. The picture-perfect little town of Kasauli is a perfect place to spen a quick getaway amidst beautiful lush green surroundings and a touch of nostalgia from the British past. 
Shoghi
Shoghi is a picturesque town just outside of Shimla (13km). The place can become quite a tourist hub during peak season and for a good reason. It is surrounded by natural beauty, a great place for birding enthusiasts and adventure lovers. Naldehra
