Pay homage to Sufi saint of Dewa in Uttar Pradesh

The Dewa Fair (also known as Deva Mela), held in honour of Haji Waris Ali Shah, is on till November 6, 2015

Dewa in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh is known for the famous dargah of Haji Waris Ali Shah, the revered Sufi saint. The Urs or commemoration of the sacred shrine is celebrated as Dewa Mela. The fair is attended by both Muslims and Hindus. Some of the highlights of the fair are the Chadar presentation ceremony, quawwali performances, kavi sammelan and other cultural programmes.
