World Sufi Music Festival, Jahan-e-Khusrau, is returning after a two-year hiatus to New Delhi. It will be held from Mar 24-26, 2017 at the ruins of Arab Ki Sarai, adjacent to Humayuns Tomb.
Founded by Indian filmmaker and poet Muzaffar Ali in 2001, Jahan-e-Khusrau music festival aims to create a bridge between the East and the West and make audiences realise its universalism. In a turmoil-ridden world, Sufi music can lead the way in creating a world without boundaries believes Ali.
The festival has the distinction of hosting eminent artists of the Sufi traditions from all over the world.
The festival this year is being held under the aegis of Rumi Foundation in association with D S Puri Foundation. It is dedicated to Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar the patron Saint of the Punjab and the Pir of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.
Top Sufi singers of Punjab, such as Daler Mehndi, Satinder Sartaj, Sukhwinder Singh and Sonam Kalra are scheduled to perform here.
The programme will begin at 6.30pm. Invites are available at Kotwara, DLF Emporio, Vasant Kunj, and Music Shop, Khan Market in New Delhi. Nearest Metro station for the venue is Jawaharlal Stadium on the Violet line
