Starting October 13, 2015, Goa will observe the Navratri festival&mdashwith dandiya performances&mdashwhich will conclude with the Dussehra celebrations. During Navratri, local groups will enact various episodes from the epic Ramayana, with particular reference to the battle between Rama and Ravana. During Dussehra, effigies of Ravana are burnt to indicate the victory of good over evil.
