OurTeam

The narrow gauge train, popularly known as the Toy Train, running between Darjeeling and New Jalpaiguri, will once again chug up and down the hill. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the second railway in the world to be awarded the UNESCO Heirtage tag, had to suspend operations a few years back owing to landslide. But now the route has been secured and the daily passenger train with a diesel loco will resume operations. The 02540 will leave Darjeeling at 10.15am and reach New Jalpaiguri (NJP) at 5.45pm. The 02541 will leave NJP at 8.30am and reach Darjeeling at 4pm. The train will cover 13 stations (including the terminal stations) in around 7 hours.

There will be other trains covering shorter distances as well as luxury trains and trains for joy rides. The Darjeeling-Kurseong-Darjeeling Red Panda (Tri-weekly) Express is a luxury steam-hauled train the train will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, leaving Darjeeling at 9.10am and reaching Kurseong at 12.45pm, and again leave Kurseong at 2pm and reach Darjeeling at 5.45pm. The Darjeeling-Ghum-Darjeeling Joy Ride Train will run daily, twice a day.
