Angkor un-eclipsed

OurTeam

American photographer John McDermott arrived in Siem Reap in 1995, chasing a solar eclipse&mdashand stayed on, producing astounding images of Angkor&rsquos Unesco-earmarked ruins. A collection of his award-winning work now occupies the John McDermott gallery at the Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa&mdashno need to detour to the National Museum in Phnom Penh or track down an exhibit in New York. Like the originals of Angkor Wat, this too is an open-air gallery.

What&rsquos more, he is happy to teach you how to click together your own private collection as part of the resort&rsquos new John McDermott photography tours. Plus, if yours aren&rsquot spectacular enough to suit your ambitions, the gallery lets you buy his own masterpieces to take home, too. There should not be much room for disappointment though. The tours are bespoke, thus tailored to your interests and experience with the camera, to produce the holiday souvenirs of a lifetime. The half-day photography tours are priced at US$350 per couple and full-day tours are charged at US$600 per couple. CONTACT 855-63-966788, angkor@anantara.com
