To commemorate its first airmail flight 85 years ago, Air India plans to fly from Karachi to Mumbai

That Air India was started by JRD Tata is a facet lost in the annals of history. An upcoming event might just change that, putting the focus back on how the Air India journey started, complete with the romance of its plans to re-enact the first airmail flight from Karachi to Mumbai, then Bombay. Air India plans to do this to mark the 85th anniversary of the flight. The Puss Moth flew on October 17, 1932, with 25kg of mail. It was last enacted in 1962, on the 30th anniversary of the flight, though in a Leopard Moth.
