Qatar Resumes Visa On Arrival

Visa on arrival has resumed from December 23, 2022, offering plenty of opportunities to visit Qatar after the FIFA World Cup

Starting December 23, Qatar&rsquos Visa on Arrival policies will be reinstated, replacing Hayya card requirements. Visitors from more than 95 nationalities can enjoy the Visa on Arrival services and explore thenew attractions that have opened in the lead up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022&trade.

With its distinctive combination of cool weather and pristine beaches, Qatar&rsquos visitors can continue to experience the warmth and hospitality which made this year&rsquos tournament special.

From the exquisite cuisines and culture on offer in Souq Waqif and Katara Cultural Village, to soaking up the sights of the Doha Port and Corniche, some of the tournament&rsquos most recognisable hotspots are still open and ready to welcome guests from around the world.

Currently, five countries are eligible for visa free entry in Qatar. These are&nbspBahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

General entry conditions for Visa on Arrival

All visitors under Visa on Arrival to the State of Qatar require the following

  • A passport valid for at least six months.
  • Confirmed round-trip ticket.
  • Confirmed hotel reservation in one of the country's hotels during the visit period.

Selected nationalities require that the hotel booking is done through Discover Qatar.

The following&nbsp42 countries are eligible for free, 90-day Visa on Arrival, non-extendable

Antigua and Barbuda, Croatia France, Lichtenstein, Poland, Slovenia, Argentina, Cyprus, Germany, Lithuania, Portugal, South Korea, Czech Republic, Greece, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, Armenia, Austria, Denmark, Hungary, Malaysia, Russia, Sweden, Dominican Republic, Iceland, Malta, Serbia, Switzerland, Bahamas, Belgium, Estonia, Italy, Netherlands, Seychelles Turkey, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Bulgaria, Finland, Latvia, Norway, and Slovakia.

The following 41 countries are eligible for free, 30-day Visa on Arrival, non-extendable
Andorra, Canada, Guyana, Macedonia, Paraguay, South Africa,&nbspUnited Kingdom,&nbspPeople's Republic of China, Australia,  Chile, Hong Kong, Maldives, United States of America, Azerbaijan, Colombia, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Rwanda (extendable visa), Uruguay, Moldova, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cuba, Japan, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, New Zealand, Singapore, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, Brunei, Georgia, Lebanon, Panama, Suriname, and Darussalam. 

For these 5 countries, obtaining a Visa on Arrival requires the following

  • Confirmed hotel reservation from Discover Qatar only hotel reservations from other sites are not accepted.

Pakistan, India, Thailand
Visa on Arrival for a maximum of (30) days or according to hotel reservation. Valid hotel reservation via Discover Qatar.

Ukraine
Visa on Arrival for a maximum of (90) days or according to hotel reservation. Valid hotel reservation via Discover Qatar.
Iran
Visa on Arrival or business visa for a fee and maximum of (30) days or according to the hotel reservation. Valid hotel reservation via Discover Qatar. The visa is granted according to the period specified in the Minister's Decree No. (19) of 2007, which is
a) Entry visa for a tourist for a period of one-month (non-extendable) with a fee of (100) riyals.
b) Entry visa for business for a period of one month and a maximum of three months with a fee of (200) riyals per month (a business visa is requires an invitation letter from a Qatari establishment).

These 6 countries can obtain a Visa on Arrival for a fee of (100) riyals for a period of (30) days (extendable for a similar period)

Republic of China (Taiwan), French Macau, Mauritius, Montenegro, Guiana, and Falkland Islands. 

Belarus
Instant tourist or business visa for a fee for (30) days. The visa is granted according to the period specified in the Minister's Decree No. (19) of 2007, which is
a) Entry visa for a tourist for a period of one-month (non-extendable) with a financial fee of (100) riyals.
b) Entry visa for businessmen for a period of one month and a maximum of three months with a financial fee of (200) riyals per month.
