For first-time tourists, Vietnam can be somewhat daunting due to its several cultural and scenic attractions

The South-East Asian country of Vietnam is increasingly becoming popular among Indians. This is corroborated by a recent report by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), which said that an average monthly rise of 51 per cent was seen in the number of Indian tourists to Vietnam in the first ten months of 2022. Here are five must-dos if you are also planning a maiden trip to Vietnam this year.

Go to Há Long Bay
Há Long Bay, located 165 kilometres from the nation's capital of Hanoi, must be on your list if this is your first time visiting Vietnam. This is one of the most popular tourist locations in the country and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area is particularly well-known for its historic limestone pillars and lovely, small islets, which you may admire while sailing the bay on a typical junk boat. When you explore Thien Cung Cave at Ha Long Bay, you should also look closely at the spectacular stalactite and stalagmite structures.

Explore Phong Nha
The Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, located about 500 kilometres from Hanoi, is ideal if you have never tried cave hopping and are curious to learn more about it. Along with the magnificent mountain vistas outside the caverns, the interior of the caves also has breathtaking rock formations. Visitors can enjoy cliff jumping, swimming, and sightseeing at the Ma Da Crystal Lake.

Indulge In Its Famous Rice Noodle Soup

Going to Vietnam's most well-known tourist attractions is just one part of the experience. Vietnamese cuisine, especially the pho or rice noodle soup, is a must-try if you want a truly authentic holiday there. This piping-hot dish contains chewy rice noodles in a flavorful broth with beef slices and vegetables as garnishes. Although this common dish can be found practically anywhere in Vietnam, Pho Vu Phuong, a well-known restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, is a safe bet.

Discover The History Of Ho Chi Minh
Discover Ho Chi Minh for the bustling metropolis it is. A full-day tour of Saigon would provide an insight into Vietnam's rich history, fascinating culture, and attractive way of life. Chinatown, Thien Hau Temple, the War Remnants Museum, the General Post Office, and the Opera House are among the area's most beautiful attractions.

Bask In The Glory Of The Ban Gioc Waterfall
The largest waterfall in Asia is the Ban Gioc Waterfall, the combined name for two waterfalls on the Quy Son River, 272 kilometres north of Hanoi. This body of water, situated in the northern Vietnamese province of Cao Bang, is comparable to Niagara Falls in that it straddles the borders of China and Vietnam. A mature karst formation with numerous streams strewn throughout an outstanding valley characterises the area near the waterfall.
