The Monte Music Festival will see music enthusiasts from across India make a trip to Goa to witness a celebration of cultural conversation, heritage, music, and dance.
Since the festival's debut in 2002, it has attracted a lot of interest from fans of both Western and Indian music and dance.
A highlight in Goa's cultural calendar, the festival is jointly organised by Fundação Oriente along with Cidade de Goa. As Fundação Oriente completes 30 years, this year's festival will be even more special. One of the performances everyone is looking forward to is the one by acclaimed Portuguese fadista Pedro Moutinho, who will be accompanied by Andre Dias (guitar), Tiago Silva (fado guitar) and Daniel Pinto (acoustic bass).
The first day will also see a peformance by the Peckham-born British-Bengali artist Tara Lily, who is known for her repertoire that pulls from jazz, soul and stylings of north Indian classical.
The festival will open with a performance of traditional Odissi dance by Mitali D&rsquoSouza and daughters, Diya and Risa.
The well known Aradhon Choir from Goa will perform Konkani hymns with vocal and instrumental arrangements around traditional melodies.
On the last day, you can listen to celebrated pianist Marialena Fernandes, alongwith Barna Banfi on the saxphone and mezzo soprano Mareike Jankowski, perform themes from Handel, Dvorak, Messiaen, Bartholdy and Liszt
