Antaraa Chatterjee

TARQ

This beautiful contemporary art space pushing the boundaries of art with its new installations. It was conceptualized by Heena Kapadia, who curates the works of and nurtures experimental artists. The art laboratory&ndashwhich is what it was created as&ndashis inside one of the city&rsquos most sought-after art deco buildings, Dhanraj Mahal and features eccentric installations and abstract pieces.

Jehangir Art Gallery

This is one of the most famous, if not the most famous, art gallery in Kala Ghoda, Fort and was opened to the public in 1952. The two-storeyed Jehangir Art Gallery, situated at the heart of South Bombay, was founded by Cowasji Jehangir and is always brimming with people and art admirers.

Chemould Prescott Road Gallery

Oscillating between contemporary bigwigs and new talent, one of Mumbai&rsquos most prestigious and iconic art galleries has showcased names like MF Hussain, Nalini Malani, and Atul Dodiya. If you&rsquore in the city, you must not miss out on this iconic spot in Colaba.

Project 88

A minimalist art lover&rsquos paradise, Project 88 is a massive space with pillars and exposed beams. The owner, Sree Goswami, bets on the big names of the art world for her curated pieces and the younger, more offbeat artists. If you like the minimal concept of art and are admirers of artists like Indo Hisashi, this place is just the right one for you to explore.

Chatterjee & Lal

Founded by the husband and wife team of Mortimer Chatterjee and Tara Lal in 2003, this compact gallery in Colaba is known for showcasing exciting new Indian talents and contemporary works of Indian artists.
