Places To Have That Fun New Year Trip With Friends

The new year's here, and it's time to finally take that trip with your friends you have been planning for the past year. Here is a list of places you can consider to hang at with your gang

Antaraa Chatterjee

Andaman and Nicobar Islands

If you are planning to escape the winter blues, try the barmy blues of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Plan a group trip and go scuba diving with the fascinating aquatic life surrounding you. Beach bumming with your friends at Elephant and Long Island with a couple of the best beach reads at your disposal is the perfect way to spend a relaxing day away from the frigid city life. Go snorkelling and have the warmth of the white sand between your toes.

Arriving&nbspThere are direct flights to Port Blaire from all metro cities and big cities, including Hyderabad and Chennai.

Eating Fresh seafood at Full Moon Cafe or Red Snapper in Havelock Islands, or enjoy the drinks at the Barefoot hotel there.

Goa

However much overdone Goa has been, it can never be truly enough for anyone wanting to explore the beach life. Pack in your sunblocks and beach pants, and get ready to start the new year with your people with fantastic food and even more amazing vibes.

Arriving There are regular flights that ply to Goa's Dabolim airport, which is 26 km from Panaji, from New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai.

Eating When in Goa, you cannot go without trying Pork Vindaloo and the local rice-wine Fenni with rustic, fusion street food like chorizo pav. Head to Calamari and Mum's Kitchen for the best food you can find in the city.

Auli

Elevated approximately 2,909 m above sea level, Auli is nestled amidst the giant snowy peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet and Dunagiri, offering a spectacular view of these mountains. Skiing is the highlight of a winter trip to the mini Switzerland of India, which gets blanketed by pristine layers of snow. After a night's stay at Joshimath, the cable car ride to Auli is a refreshing start to the next day.

Arriving Take a direct flight to Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport and then go by road or take an overnight bus from Delhi to Rishikesh, from where take a shared taxi to Joshimath and then the cable car to take you up the peaks of Auli.

Eating The best thing to eat is the simple Uttarakhand cuisine you will get served wherever you stay. Between the many cottages, chalets, and some hotels, cafes and bars are sparse in the small village, and only way is to go down into the main base town of Joshimath.

Kasol

While you can enjoy the snowy scenes in Auli, in Kasol, you can enjoy the nature trails and trekking routes with beautiful scenic views of the hills.

Arriving Take a direct flight from Delhi to Bhuntar Airport in Kullu district, from where it will take you an hour's drive to reach Kasol, which is some 30 km.

Eating Momos, thukpa, and lemon tea are some of the popular foods to try when in Kasol. You can check Stone Garden for some good and wholesome brunch options. Off Limits is a unique cafe that serves hemp-infused drinks and dishes in Kasol and educates customers about hemp's health benefits through special workshops.

Gokarna

In the middle of the Arabian Sea, with its quiet, unassuming beaches, spend a lazy day with your best friends for a different start to your regular party-filled new year. Sit on the Om beach and have conversations, detoxing from technology. Or go out on the town to eat around the local cuisine of the place.

Arriving Take a flight to Goa's Dabolim airport, from which Gokarna is some 140 km, and you can hire a cab or a shared taxi to the location.

Eating Try Konkani cuisine with a seafood thali and clam curry at Lazy Beach Cafe and Mantra Cafe.
