Much later, the Rajasthan Tourism and Indian Railways came together to revamp a special heritage tourist train to provide a unique experience for tourists visiting Rajasthan. The name 'Palace On Wheels' was inspired by the personal carriages used by former rulers and Maharajas. which gradually saw many interior changes.
