Uttarakhand In The Valley of Flowers

During August/September, the Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand breaks into a profusion of flowers

OurTeam

Valley of Flowers in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, subject to weather conditions, will remain open for visitors from June 5 to October 30, 2016.

The national park, about 300km from Dehra Dun, is known for its endemic alpine flora and some endangered species of animals. Govindghat, an hour&rsquos journey by road from Joshimath, the nearest transport hub, is the starting point of the trek. Ghangaria, about 12km from Govindghat, is a small settlement where you can stay. A little above Ghangaria, the road bifurcates &ndash one goes to the Valley of Flowers and the other to Hemkund Sahib, a pilgrimage centre for both Sikhs and Hindus. From Ghangaria, Valley of Flowers is about 4km and Hemkund Sahib, 6km. The best time to see the flowers is during the monsoon months of August and September. https://uttarakhandtourism.gov.in/.
