GIO Adventures has opened its Leh Manali Cycling for 2017, which promises to be an unforgettable experience, with a total ascent of 3,800 meters, crossing four main passes and enjoying some of the most spectacular sceneries in the world. The Manali to Leh traverse is hard to beat, say the organisers, and is a challenge to the strongest of riders with adrenaline filled cycling routes.
The beautiful multi-coloured desert landscapes, quaint villages inhabited by rugged-looking people will enchant you completely. You can explore the Buddhist kingdoms of Ladakh and Lahaul with visits to lakes and many ancient monasteries and palaces.
The 12-day cycling trip, which is operated from June to September, includes accommodation, meals, nutrition halts during the cycling course, support vehicle, mechanic support and lots more.
The trip begins with an acclimatisation ride around Manali town. You ride from Manali to Marhi to Sissu, crossing the Rohtang Pass on the way. You reach Jispa and carry on to Patseo, Sarchu, cross the second pass and reach Pang and then to Tso Kar. From here the ride continues to Rumptse, to Leh. A round trip from Leh takes you across the Khardungla.
