Cycling Down The East Coast

Clear roads sprinkled with sparkling beaches make this trail one of the best in India. The route, going through Mahabalipuram, is renowned for its glistening seaside views. The journey which also happens to be the easiest on this list will take 1-2 days depending on your stamina and belief. The 150km adventure will involve pedaling past Kelambakkam where the Thiruporur temple pond will be brimming with water. The glorious lush green of the East Coast Region is sure to bring a smile on your face.

Biking From Guwahati To East Khasi Hills

Onto the land of the seven sisters in Northeast India we go. The next trail starts from Assam's largest city, Guwahati and goes on till Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya crossing the East Khasi Hills on the way. Called the Scotland of India due to its verdant meadows and elegant streams, the journey is one for the soul. Spot gigantic waterfalls, extremely long root bridges dating back to decades and beautiful ravine along the way.

Run A Marathon

The Kaveri Trail marathon is the oldest trail marathon in the country. In its 13th&nbspyear, it is also one of the most beautiful routes to run in. The train runs through the Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, the lush greenery on one side and the Kaveri on the other. There are four categories to run in full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K.

Go On A Lake Trek

The gushing blue-green water running through the Dhauladhar range in Kullu valley is Lake Prashar. This lake trek offers breathtaking views throughtout the trail, with Kinnaur and Shimla visible from the top. Dedicated to sage Prashar, the oval-shaped lake has a temple beside it and a small, circular island on its surface which keeps changing location from time to time. Apart from that, the depth of the lake hasn&rsquot been mapped yet.

Did you know that Meghalaya is one of the top 10 caving destinations in the world&nbspThe state has one of the longest and deepest cave systems in the Indian subcontinent. Krem Mawmluh, about 7km from Sohra is a famous site for spelunking activities. Some portions of the cave are extremely small and narrow. Inside the caves are exquisite formations created over millions of years, which are made of limestone and sandstone. Mawsmai, Krem Dam, Krem Lymput, Krem Mawjymbuin, Krem Lubon, Krem Umkseh and Siju are amongst the other caves you can explore when you&rsquore visiting Meghalaya.
