On the Karmanasa River, surrounded by lush forests, the Aurwatand waterfall is a wonder. The cave walls underneath are adorned with prehistoric rock paintings. However, the district of Chandauli, wherein lies the Aurwatand waterfalls, is being developed by the UP government, as per a January 2023 report.
Chandauli, near Kashi district, is home to many natural wonders. The Aurwatand Waterfall is one of them and it is now being developed as a new eco-tourism destination. A proposal of Rs 2 Cr. was sent to the state government a few months back from the Chandauli administration for the makeover. This would boost tourism in the region as the large influx of travellers heading to Kashi could be banked on to explore the nearby districts. Developments for the Aurwatand waterfall of Chandauli, which lies some 25 km from the Rajdari-Devdari waterfalls, are slated to be completed by December 2023.
Chandauli, also known as the "Rice Bowl of Uttar Pradesh" is well-known for its natural beauty and scenic vistas. The Aurwatand waterfall is one of the big highlights of the district. Surrounded by natural valleys on three sides, the waterfall has rare rock paintings dating to the prehistoric era around it. The drop is steep, about 200 ft high, and the cascade is a beautiful, foamy sight.
