'The Piano Man' Unveils Its Largest Venue In Delhi's Malviya Nagar

Himakshi Panwar

Popular as Delhi's premier destination for live music, especially among Jazz lovers, The Piano Man (TPM), a restaurant-cum-bar, recently opened its largest venue in Malviya Nagar. Founded by Arjun Sagar Gupta, an engineer turned Fulbright music scholar, TPM is a gateway to the vibrant jazz culture from Europe and worldwide. The restaurant is known for fostering a culture of listening and making music accessible by hosting both Indian and international artists for NCR audiences.

TPM already operates in New Delhi's Safdarjung Enclave and Gurugram's 32nd Avenue; however, its recent outlet, with a seating capacity of over 300 people, is the largest. Covering a substantial 8,500 square feet, TPM showcases an amalgamation of design and technology. It has vintage interiors and modern production equipment. The venue has professional audio systems, lighting, a 220V LED wall, and high-quality camera systems, ensuring a unique experience for culture enthusiasts in Delhi.

Inspired By Gothic Architecture

The restaurant's interiors are inspired by Gothic Architecture

Inspired by Gothic cathedrals in Europe, The Piano Man is thoughtfully designed for optimal seating arrangements, ensuring every guest has a clear view of live performances on the stage, which is at the heart of its experience. Every design element is carefully crafted to create a Gothic-inspired music room. The venue's standout feature is the TPM three-tiered trumpet chandeliers with 579 trumpets that grace the stage.

"After a trip to Prague in 2009, my dream has always been to design a gothic-inspired music space. So, when the venue for the new Piano Man was finalised and after seeing the site, I knew that I could create my gothic music venue here because of the large floor plate," said Amith Chhabra of Studio LCD.

The Menu

Koliwada Prawns

With a carefully crafted menu for the new venue, Partner Chef Manoj Pandey said, "Opening this Eldeco Center location is a significant moment for The Piano Man. While TPM is known for its Eurasian cuisine, this new site signifies an exciting development in our culinary journey. We have assembled an Indo Fusion menu that pays tribute to our Eurasian heritage while embracing the diverse range of flavours and ingredients found in India."

Their must-try appetisers include Koliwada Prawns, Beurre Noir Chicken Tikka and Pizza Chicken Peri Peri, perhaps with the softest and juiciest base. Wasabi Broccoli from the Tandoor is a must-try for vegetarians.

The Piano Man has a history of hosting musicians and organising events over the past eight years, and this new venue is no different. It aims to be a hub for music enthusiasts, providing a platform for national and international artists across various genres. This space is designed to unite music, art, and people, creating lasting experiences for all who enter.
