The Anjunem Dam is located approximately 10 km away from Sanquelim town, along the Sanquelim-Belgaum route in Chorla Ghat. It boasts of stunning natural beauty and lush foliage. The dam is nestled in a valley that is created by Morlemgad, a nearby peak to the southeast, and Vagheri Hill, one of the highest hills in Goa. Two picturesue lakes can be found nearby, which are known to be natural swimming pools.

Located close to the Valpoi village, the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary is a relatively new sanctuary. When you visit this sanctuary, you may come across various creatures such as Indian gaur, Barking deer, Sambar deer, Asian palm civet, tiny Indian civet, Wild boar, Indian hare, Ruddy mongoose, Black-faced langur, and Bonnet macaque. To make the most of your visit, it is recommended to have a guide who can help you locate the best spots for viewing these creatures.

Visit Trekker's Paradise

The breathtaking Lasni Temb is also popularly known as the trekker's paradise. Along the forest trails, you'll encounter the enchanting glow of bio-luminescent fungus illuminating the darkened path. As the monsoon season blankets the area in dampness, be sure to equip yourself with sturdy footwear to navigate the challenging terrain.

Visit The Twin Vajra Waterfalls

Those with a yen for adventure, trek to the twin Vajra waterfalls and spend a day unwinding by the banks of the Mhadel River. The journey begins by crossing the Goa border into Karnataka, heading from Kankumbi to Chapoli. This six-hour trek provides an awe-inspiring view of the western ghats.

Getting There: Madgaon is the nearest railway station, about 25 kilometres away by road while Goa airport is 67 kilometres away. Private buses and autos are easily accessible at this location.

What to do: Travelling by car or bike is the best way to explore Chorla Ghats. The journey is full of excitement, taking you through numerous bridges and paddy fields before revealing the magnificent Sahyadri. The best starting point for your road trip is the Calangute area in Goa, which is about 65 kilometers away.
