Dubai attracts Indian travellers with a mix of luxury, shopping, and cultural fusion. With renowned attractions like the Burj Khalifa and lively souks (market), it is a preferred choice for Indians, serving as a home away from home. Now, adding to its diverse allure, the UAE capital is ready to host an enriching cultural journey, 'India by the Creek', that unfolds from March 8 to 10 at Al Seef Park along the iconic Dubai Creek. This historic waterway divides the city into two districts: Deira and Bur Dubai. Lined with traditional dhows and modern vessels, it reflects UAE's juxtaposition of tradition and modernity.

This inaugural celebration, presented by Dubai Duty-Free in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Dubai, supported by Dubai Economy and Tourism, signifies a remarkable cultural rendezvous for both nations.

Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai, said, "The UAE and India share a very special and unique relationship that transcends trade and mercantile interests; culture, diversity and tolerance anchor this bond. This festival celebrates that spirit. I am fortunate to see the first edition being staged. This is just the beginning; many more such exchanges are in the offing."

About The Festival

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Dubai Creek, the festival serves as a bridge between India and the UAE, spotlighting shared values of heritage preservation, artistic expression, and economic progress. A dynamic three-day itinerary awaits, featuring musical performances, literary discussions, poetry sessions, culinary experiences, and interactive workshops.

This unique event transcends cultural boundaries, offering a platform for meaningful exchanges. 'India by the Creek' is not merely a celebration; it embodies the enduring partnership and shared values, uniting diverse expressions against Dubai's iconic waterway. Dignitaries and performers from India converge with their Emirati counterparts, infusing the festival with a rich presentation of cultural experiences. 'India by the Creek' emerges as a transformative initiative, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the cultural ties binding India and the UAE.

Ramesh Cidambi, COO of Dubai Duty Free, noted: "We are very excited to be the presenting sponsor of the first 'India by the Creek' festival, which promises to be a rich cultural collaboration that blends both Indian and Emirati culture in a unique and vibrant setting. India accounts for 10 per cent of Dubai Duty Free's business, which is significant, so being involved with this inaugural event is very important to a key customer base."
