Day 1: Arrival in Nadi and Exploring the Town

The front facade of Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple

Once you have arrived at the Nadi International Airport, you can take a quick 20-minute taxi or shuttle ride to the Novotel Nadi, where you can check in for your first night. The hotel is a great place to stay after a long flight because of its close proximity to the airport. Explore the town of Nadi in the late morning and early afternoon after you've settled in. The largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere, Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, is only a 15-minute drive away. Its strikingly beautiful and intricate Dravidian architecture offers a tranquil introduction to Fijian culture.

After that, spend ten minutes or less at the vibrant market in Nadi. Fresh local produce, handcrafted trinkets, and genuine Fijian goods are all available at the market. After dark, drive ten minutes from the town centre to Wailoaloa Beach, where you can take a stroll along the shoreline as the sun sets. Tu's Place, a local favourite known for its fresh Fijian dishes, is a great place to end the day. Return to Novotel Nadi for a restful night before your adventures truly begin.

Day 2: Garden of the Sleeping Giant and Sabeto Hot Springs

At the Garden of the Sleeping Giant

Begin your second day with a thirty-minute drive north to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, a verdant oasis tucked away in the mountain foothills, following breakfast at the hotel. This place offers lush walking trails and exquisitely kept orchid gardens, making it the perfect place to spend a tranquil morning in the great outdoors. It only takes ten minutes to get to the Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool after you've finished exploring the gardens, where you can take a relaxing soak. In addition to being soothing, the warm geothermal waters and mud baths provide a genuine local experience.

Later, return to Nadi after spending a relaxed afternoon at the hot springs and have lunch at the Tanoa International Hotel, which serves a large variety of Fijian and international cuisine. Before spending a second night at the hotel, have a delicious dinner at a local restaurant in the evening.

Day 3: Day Trip to the Mamanuca Islands

A view of the Mamanuca Islands

Begin your day with a 25-minute taxi ride to Port Denarau, where you can embark on a full-day tour of the nearby Mamanuca Islands. There are breathtaking views all along the way of the hour-long ferry ride to the islands. Explore the islands’ white sand beaches and pristine waters during the day; swimming and snorkelling are both possible. A trip to Monuriki Island, made well-known by the movie Castaway, will undoubtedly be the highlight of the day. As part of the tour, enjoy a barbecue-style lunch that is served frequently on a quiet beach.

Return to Port Denarau in the late afternoon after a day of sun, sand, and sea, and have dinner at Lulu Bar Café & Restaurant, renowned for its laid-back atmosphere and extensive menu. In the evening, settle into the luxurious beachfront Radisson Blu Resort Fiji, only five minutes from the marina.

Day 4: Sigatoka River Safari and Sand Dunes

Check out and start your approximately hour-long drive toward Sigatoka along the Coral Coast after breakfast at the resort. After arriving, take a thrilling boat ride through Fiji's lush countryside on the Sigatoka River Safari. Travelling through picturesque valleys, you can stop at a traditional Fijian village to see how people live there and have the chance to participate in a kava ceremony. It's a great way to experience authentic Fijian hospitality by dining on a traditional lunch in the village.

Later, drive 20 minutes after the safari to the breathtaking Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park, a landscape of rolling dunes where you can hike, see expansive views, and discover prehistoric archaeological sites. After exploring the dunes, drive 30 minutes down the coast to the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort, which can serve as your two-night residence. Savour a dinner at the Vale Ni Kana restaurant with a Fijian flair while unwinding on the resort's private beach.

Day 5: Natadola Beach and Cultural Village Tour

Take a 30-minute drive to Natadola Beach, recognised as one of Fiji's most stunning beaches, to start your day. Spend the morning swimming in turquoise waters, lounging on the soft sand, or trying your hand at water activities like snorkelling or horseback riding along the shoreline.

You can grab some lunch with views of the beach at Yatule Resort & Spa, conveniently close to the beach. Later, drive 20 minutes to a nearby Fijian cultural village in the afternoon to get a firsthand look at local customs. You'll witness traditional dances and see demonstrations of traditional crafts like weaving and pottery.

In the evening, head back to Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort for another leisurely meal and restful night.

Day 6: Pacific Harbour – Adventure Day

Underwater at the Pacific Harbour

Check out of the resort after breakfast and make the 1.5-hour drive to Pacific Harbour along the Coral Coast. A haven for thrill-seekers, Pacific Harbour is dubbed the adventure capital of Fiji. Get amazing views of the tropical scenery as you soar through the canopy on a zip-lining adventure through the rainforest to start the day. For lunch, stop by a local restaurant offering Fijian-Cajun fusion cuisine.

After lunch, you have the option of going for a leisurely stroll along Pacific Harbour's immaculate beaches or, for the more daring among you, trying shark diving at Beqa Lagoon. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with reef sharks in their natural environment during the shark dive. After your exciting day of exploration, check into the eco-friendly Uprising Beach Resort and savour a casual dinner al fresco with a view of the ocean.

Day 7: Return to Nadi and Departure

Your last morning at Uprising Beach Resort can be spent lounging by the beach or participating in water sports like snorkelling or kayaking. Start your two-hour drive back to Nadi after breakfast. Check out the Denarau Marina stores for any last-minute mementoes before your flight.

Lastly, make your way to Nadi International Airport in time for your evening departure, or choose to stay longer to take in more of Fiji's breathtaking scenery.

Best Time To Visit Fiji

The dry season, which runs from May to October and features pleasant weather and calm seas, is the ideal time to visit Fiji. The weather is perfect for island exploration, water sports, and beach activities during this time of year. The best months to visit Fiji are also October through December, when the springtime temperatures begin to rise again.

How To Reach Fiji

The primary international gateway to Fiji, Nadi International Airport, is the place to book a flight from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore if you're travelling there. India does not have direct flights to Fiji; instead, you will have to stop in one of the major cities, like Singapore, Hong Kong, or Sydney. Airlines like Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Qantas offer convenient connections. You can take domestic flights, taxis, or shuttles from Nadi International Airport to get to your final location within Fiji.
