An Adaptation Of Swan Lake

Head out to watch "Hansika," an interesting adaptation of Swan Lake. The ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is being reimagined in the context of Indian classical dance—Odissi. Sharmila Mukerjee attempts to direct and choreograph Swan Lake in the form of Odissi to bring meaningful stories to audiences worldwide. Through "Hansika," the production aims to experiment with how ballet and libretto can be adapted to the Indian world of raga, taal, laya, and rasa.

These artisans are responsible for the city's sculpting prowess. The clay idols of gods and goddesses that they create are not only famous in Kolkata but also all over the world.
