Chilkur Balaji Temple

Chilkur Balaji Temple

The Chilkur Balaji Temple, with its 500-year legacy, stands as a symbol of faith and devotion in Hyderabad. It has garnered immense reverence, attracting devotees from all walks of life who come to seek divine intervention and blessings, especially for visa-related issues, hence the unique moniker. According to a legend, devotees must first perform 11 pradakshinas to have their wishes granted.

This act of devotion is believed to invoke the blessings of the deity, Lord Balaji. Upon the fulfilment of their wishes, the pilgrims are bound by their vow to return to the temple and complete a more rigorous commitment of 108 pradakshinas as a gesture of gratitude and devotion. What sets the Chilkur Balaji Temple apart from other religious institutions is its staunch stance on not accepting any form of monetary donations. It is perhaps the only temple in India without a hundi, reflecting its principle of selfless devotion and worship.
